Getting ready for the Game City!
We are a little bit behind with our devlogs, so here is a bigger one with all the changes we made for this year’s Game City!
Let’s start with the streets. We made them smaller, so their size fits better with the shops.
Cars still ignore things like the right side of the street, but that’s on our customers! 🚗
Last devlog we introduced the attractiveness level, now the maintenance level from buildings affect the attractiveness level! So watch out for destroyed buildings, they will bring your rating down. 🏚️
Sometimes, you place a tree and change your mind afterwards where it belongs.
Now you can click on it in the edit mode and move it to a new, better location.
Just keep in mind that you can’t move trash, you don’t want your hands to get dirty ✋
Don’t you think the process to edit buildings is a bit tedious? Selecting each tile by hand when you want to select multiple tiles feels slow.
Behold, we got a solution for this!
Drag above the tiles you want to add to the building and they get magically selected 🪄
We had some talks with the realtors union again, and especially Luther Lux was in no good mood.
From now on, he will only accept contracts from malls with a rating of at least two stars!
May Be settled for one star, just Below Average Joe will still take any contract he can get.
Rumors say that he will even accept jobs from dogs looking for a new doghouse. 🐶
To make your life easier, the realtors accepted to be just one click on the shaking phone away 📞
A thing we noticed during the playtests at the Aninite was that people didn’t care about the trash lying around.
So we made it more visually distracting and stinky. 🙊
One thing people always wondered was ”Why do the customers not go INSIDE the shops?”.
After handing out manuals, placing billboards across the city and even booking radio commercials, we finally managed to make the customers go into the shops 🥳
A surprised customer told us after this massive breakthrough: ”Wow, I didn’t know about this thing called INSIDE. Maybe I will take a closer look at the house that I drive to every day”.
There is also a nice feature for pro-players: You can close screens and edit modes with the ESC button ❌
That’s it for our devlog!
Oh, wait, we have a sneak peek for you at something we are currently working on.
A mall building with shops inside 🤯
We will share more about that in the next devlog.
So stay tuned dear tycoons 💸
